Summary:   This Texas statute provides that a person commits an offense (Class C misdemeanor) if he or she fails to or refuses to register or present for registration a dog or cat owned by the person as required by state law or local ordinance.


Statute in Full:

(a) A person commits an offense if:

(1) the person fails or refuses to register or present for registration a dog or cat owned by the person; and

(2) the animal is required to be registered under the ordinances or rules adopted under this chapter by a county or municipality within whose jurisdiction the act occurs.

(b) An offense under this section is a Class C misdemeanor.
